Description

Partial ring-bound NASA ‘Flight Plan’ manual titled “Mission Apollo 11” and “Edition Preliminary,” measuring 8˝ x 5.5˝, dated April 15, 1969, and prepared by the Flight Planning Branch approximately three months before launch. This section, comprising 31 leaves numbered 3-37 through 3-95, details timeline activities for the Command Module Columbia and Lunar Module Eagle spanning Mission Days 3 through 6, covering the translunar coast (TLC) phase through lunar orbit operations (revolutions 1–28).

The manual is prominently tabbed in ink for key mission events, including “Undock 98+ HRS” (when LM Eagle separates from CSM Columbia), “EVA Prep, 108:30 HRS” (preparation for the first moonwalk), “PRE L/O Prep, 120:00 HRS” (preparations prior to lunar orbit operations and rendezvous), and “L/O RNDZ 122+ HRS” (lunar orbit rendezvous following ascent from the Moon). These tabs correspond to critical phases of the Apollo 11 lunar landing sequence and reflect the document’s use as a working operational timeline. Approximately half the pages bear handwritten annotations in pencil, black ink, and red ink, indicative of active use in mission planning, simulation, or procedural refinement. In fine condition.
