Scarce presentation model of the N1-L3, the Soviet Union’s proposed lunar landing system developed to compete with the American Apollo program. The configuration paired the massive N1 super heavy-lift rocket with the L3 lunar expedition complex, which consisted of the LOK lunar orbital spacecraft and the single-cosmonaut LK lunar lander, designed to carry a Soviet cosmonaut to the Moon using a lunar-orbit rendezvous mission profile. Constructed of metal, the four-piece model stands at a height of 33.5˝ and is set upon a square metal base measuring 7.75˝ x 7.75˝ x .5˝. In fine condition, with light scuffs, and slight bends to the fins.
