Description

Baseball catcher (1902-1972) who also served briefly as a spy for the United States. Casey Stengel once described Berg as 'the strangest man ever to play baseball.' National Newark & Essex Banking Co. check, 6.25 x 2.75, filled out and signed by Berg, "Morris Berg," payable to Cash for $50, April 25, 1942. In fine condition. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder.

From the personal collection of a lifelong collector, teacher, and traveler with a passion for world history. His collecting years ranged from the 1970s to the present day, meaning that several of the premier pieces have not been on the market in decades.
