Small key from the personal collection of Harry Houdini, measuring 1.25˝ in length, attractively mounted with a photograph and a certificate of authenticity from Roger Dreyer, president of Fantasma Magic and owner of the Houdini Museum of New York. The certificate reads, in part: “This is to certify that this key is from the personal collection of Harry Houdini. Houdini would keep a large master set of keys to match those needed to escape from various locks. He would also practice picking any locks he could, and had the original key to open the lock if need be. Fantasma Magic, DBA The Houdini Museum of New York, purchased these rare keys from the world-renowned Houdini collector Doug Edwards in December of 2006. Doug Edwards sold the majority of his Houdini collection at Swann Galleries in 2001. He obtained them from Paul Harter, who obtained them from Hardeen (Houdini’s brother) in 1941.” Handsomely framed to an overall size of 21 x 14.5. In fine condition.
