Description

American electrical engineer (1918-2015) who was an associate administrator at NASA who headed the Office of Manned Space Flight from September 1963 until December 1969. He was instrumental in introducing the all-up testing philosophy for the Saturn V launch vehicle, which ensured the success of the Apollo program in landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to Earth by the end of 1969. Mueller also played a key part in the design of Skylab, and championed the Space Shuttle's development, which earned him the nickname, ‘the father of the Space Shuttle.’ Rare book released in very limited quantities about George Mueller's career and role as head of System Development Corporation, a computer software company based in Santa Monica, California. White hardcover with gilt titling to the front board, “Dr. George E. Mueller, Chairman of the Board and President, System Development Corporation,” 8.75 x 11.25, containing a detailed biography, a list of his career accomplishments, and numerous illustrated pages of the personal awards and mementos he amassed during his time at NASA, including flown flags, patches, hardware, and other fascinating mementos.
