Small .5˝ x .5˝ fragment of heatshield plug attested to as flown on the Mercury-Atlas 6 mission as part of John Glenn's Friendship 7 spacecraft. Encased in a 3˝ x 4˝ x 1˝ Lucite display with images of the mission. In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Florian Noller of Spaceflori, in part: "I certify that the below shown acrylic contains a flown piece of heatshield from the Mercury MA-6 'Friendship 7' capsule that carried John Glenn into space…It was removed afterwards and saved since then by Gemini Program Office special assistant and longtime NASA employee, Paul M. Sturtevant. This acrylic edition is #19 or 40 acrylic blocks made."
