Morrow of Yankton, Dakota, as part of a series of "Photographic Gems from the Great North-West." Captioned on the mount in pencil, "Signing a Treaty of Peace; July 11th 1870 at Ft. Berthold D.T." In fine condition, with light soiling and edgewear to the mount. The Fort Berthold reservation was established by executive order on April 12, 1870, establishing a home for the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation.
