Description

Complete three-model set of the ‘Chuck Yeager Collection’ by The Danbury Mint, which includes finely detailed composite models of Yeager’s most famous aircraft — the ‘Glamorous Glennis’ Bell X-1, the ‘Glamorous Glen III’ North American P-51D Mustang, and the 'Glamorous Glennis III' McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle — each signed on a wing in black felt tip by Yeager. The models include:

1:48 scale model of the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle 'Glamorous Glennis III' air superiority fighter jet, measuring 16.5″ long, with its original stand and box. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from The Danbury Mint.

1:32 scale model of the Bell X-1 rocket research plane, measuring 13″ long, with its original stand, original box, and packing inserts from the Danbury Mint, which contain the original certificates of authenticity and registration and a photo of Yeager during the model-signing session.

1:32 scale model of the ‘Glamorous Glen III’ North American P-51D Mustang single-seat fighter and fighter-bomber, measuring 14˝ from wingtip to wingtip, with its original stand, box, and certificate of authenticity.

In overall fine condition, with wear to the boxes. Accompanying the Yeager-signed models are two additional aircraft models released as part of The Danbury Mint’s ‘Milestones of Flight’ series, which features 1:32 scale, finely detailed mahogany replicas recreating the most memorable aircraft in the history of aviation. The models included are ‘The Wright Flyer,’ 15.25˝ across, with original base, box, and certificates of authenticity and registration; and ‘The Spirit of St. Louis,’ 17.5˝ across, with original base and box.
