United States Army officer (1896–1984) who fought in World War I, World War II, and the Korean War. Three items signed in ink or felt tip by Mark W. Clark: a TLS from 1950, in part: “It is always good to hear from the men who served in Italy, and I shall always be appreciative of the great contributions they made toward our ultimate victory”; a TQS, which reads: “‘There were gay crowds on the streets, many of them waving flags, as our infantry marched through the capital. Flowers were stuck in the muzzles of the soldiers' rifles and of guns on the tanks’”; and an 8 x 10 photo of Clark seated at his desk. In overall fine condition.
From the personal collection of a lifelong collector, teacher, and traveler with a passion for world history. His collecting years ranged from the 1970s to the present day, meaning that several of the premier pieces have not been on the market in decades.
