Description

Two letters by Argentina's influential political couple:

- TLS in Spanish, signed "Eva Peron," one page, 8.75 x 6.75, personal letterhead, November 17, 1951. In part (translated): "[Eva Person] extends her most distinguished regards to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Peru, General Manuel A. Odría, and his wife, and takes pleasure in conveying to them her deepest gratitude for the wishes for a speedy recovery that they conveyed to her following the recent surgical intervention she underwent—thereby affirming the indestructible bonds of friendship that unite our sister nations."

- TLS in Spanish, signed "Juan Peron," three pages on two adjoining sheets, 6.75 x 8.75, personal letterhead, January 23, 1948, to Ambassador Oscar Ivanissevich. In part (translated): "I am pleased with the activities of those educational establishments and centers of studies in which is suitable to promote and disseminate our Argentinean spiritual heritage. I am grateful for the information that you sent to me, and its meaning, and I assure you that I will do my utmost for the best results. I will let Eva know about your wish respecting Mrs. Burke to whom we will give special attention in order for her to be pleased." He adds a lengthy handwritten postscript.
