Two TLSs from IBM executives Thomas J. Watson and his namesake, Thomas J. Watson, Jr., both one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, addressed to autograph collector Ken Browne. The letter from Watson, Sr., signed “Thos. J. Watson,” dated January 6, 1950, reads, in part: “You ask whether or not I have ever visited your Pine Tree State. Yes, Mrs. Watson and I know the state well and also Bangor as we had a summer home in Camden during the 1930's, and our children often recall with us the many good times we enjoyed there.” The letter from Watson, Jr., signed “T. J. Watson, Jr.,” dated April 15, 1957, in part: “I appreciate your good wishes for my family and your kind remarks concerning my career.” In overall fine condition.
Thomas J. Watson, Sr. (1874-1956) founded IBM and built it into one of the most powerful companies in the world. He was one of the richest men of his time and was called the world's greatest salesman when he died. Thomas J. Watson, Jr. (1914–1993) served as the second IBM president, the 11th national president of the Boy Scouts of America, and the 16th United States Ambassador to the Soviet Union.
