Rare prototype keyboard for the Apple IIc computer, 11˝ x 5.5˝ x 1.25˝, featuring a standard QWERTY layout, with arrow keys along the bottom edge and a blank, rhombus-shaped 'Reset' key at the upper left. The back of the unusual development board is marked: "Apple Computer Inc. KPT-0032D-05." In very good to fine condition, with a few keys missing (including the space bar, the '6,' and two function buttons).
The Apple IIc, released in April 1984, was Apple Computer’s first endeavor to produce a portable computer—it was essentially a complete Apple II squeezed into a smaller housing, and the 'c' stood for 'compact.'
