Gavel constructed of wood removed from Monticello, the primary residence and plantation of Thomas Jefferson, measuring 10.5˝ in length with a cylindrical 4˝ x 1.75˝ head, which bears a metal plaque that reads: “Made of Wood from Thos. Jefferson’s Estate, Monticello, Charlottesville, VA.” In fine condition, with some nicks to the head.
