The FDR letter, one page, 7 x 8.75, White House letterhead, May 23, 1938, sent to North Dakota Congressman Usher L. Burdick: “Thank you ever so much for that nice letter you sent me on May twentieth. It is heartening to receive messages of this kind and I sincerely appreciate your thoughtfulness in writing as you did.”
The Truman letter, one page, 7 x 8.75, White House letterhead, March 29, 1946, sent to California Congressman Albert E. Carter: “I have just learned that you have been in the hospital for the past six weeks, and I am certainly sorry to hear it. I hope you are well on the road to recovery and that you will soon be around as usual.” In overall fine condition.
