Original vintage glossy 7.25 x 9.5 photograph of Marilyn Monroe holding up a promotional poster for the Actors’ Studio benefit premiere of Elia Kazan’s 1956 film Baby Doll. The reverse bears an affixed Warner Bros. caption, which reads: “Marilyn Monroe, in her first public appearance since returning from England, joins forces with Perle Mesta to launch the sale of tickets for Warner Bros. gala Actors Studio benefit premiere of Elia Kazan's Baby Doll on December 18th at the Victoria Theatre. The entire proceeds from the Baby Doll premiere will go to the Actors Studio, of which Miss Monroe and the picture's leading players, Karl Malden, Carroll (‘Baby Doll’) Baker, Eli Wallach, Mildred Dunnock, and Lonny Chapman, are members, and of which Kazan is a director. Baby Doll, A Warner Bros. Presentation, is from Tennessee Williams' first original screenplay. Miss Monroe flew in from London last week after completing her co-starring role opposite Sir Laurence Olivier in another forthcoming Warner Bros. release, The Sleeping Prince.” In fine condition, with a few small surface creases. Encapsulated by PSA as an authentic 'Type I' photograph, circa 1956.
