Scarce Japanese 'Triumphal Return' commemorative belt buckle from the Los Angeles 1932 Summer Olympics. Manufactured by the Tokyo-based workshop Satō Shōgo, this buckle was presented as a congratulatory gift to Japanese athletes returning home after the Xth Olympiad. The gold-tone buckle, 1.75˝ x 1˝, features a beautiful enamel design to the front of seven waving Japanese flags against a blue sky, with Olympic rings to the upper portion, and Japanese text to the bottom.
