Impressive, rare set of seven original blueprints for the original 1 World Trade Center, one of the Twin Towers of the original World Trade Center complex in New York City. Designated as North Tower or Tower 1, it was completed in 1972 and stood at a height of 1,368 feet (417.0 m), which was six feet taller than its counterpart, the South Tower, both of which were destroyed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The blueprints, each 48˝ x 36˝, prepared by HLW International LLP in 1995, relate to construction plans for floors 48 and 49, which were set to be occupied by Japanese bank Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank, one of the largest banks in the world during the latter third of the 20th century.
The legends to the lower right corner of each sheet feature identical Project Numbers (“2463”) and dates (“08/01/95”), and feature the following titles (and Drawing Numbers): “Building Electrical Criteria and Details, Phase 2” (Drawing No. E-101.2), “Light and Power Riser Diagram and Details” (Drawing No. E-102.2), “Power Plan, 49th Floor” (Drawing No. E-302.2), “Security Plan, 49th Floor” (Drawing No. E-402.2), “Security Plan, 48th Floor” (Drawing No. E-401.2), “Fire Protection, 48th Floor” (Drawing No. FP-101.2), and “Fire Protection, 48th Floor” (Drawing No. FP-102.2). Rolled and in overall fine condition.
