(Walt Disney Studios, 1938) Original character model drawing of Katharine Hepburn as 'Bo Peep' from the Silly Symphony short Mother Goose Goes Hollywood, showing her standing in a full-length pose with a shepherd's staff. Accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on off-white 11 x 13.75 illustration paper, headed "Prod. 192: 'Mother Goose Goes Hollywood,'" and stamped at the top by the Walt Disney Productions "Character Model Dept." Captioned in the lower left in pencil: "'Bo Peep,' Katherine [sic] Hepburn: Model Test Sheet." Character image measures 6.75 x 9. In fine condition.
Featuring appearances by the likes of the Marx Brothers, Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Laurel and Hardy, W. C. Fields, and many others, the cartoon was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short, but lost to Disney's own Ferdinand the Bull. Due to its stereotypical racial overtones, it is seldom seen in its entirety.
