Extremely scarce Apple II Rev. 0 logic board (green) that once belonged to Steve Wozniak, featuring the "Apple Computer, Inc." logo with a copyright date of 1977, hand numbered in the corner in blue felt tip: "1-174." No revision number is printed within the 6502 socket, which is populated with a white ceramic Synertek M0S 6502 microprocessor, marked with date code "7702." The board has just one third of its RAM sockets populated, and has hand-soldered "Memory Select" jumpers. In fine condition. Accompanied by a photocopied letter of provenance from Wozniak's friend, Mark Bitter, documenting its history: "The Apple II Computer Setup (Serial Number #1-174) offered for sale was one of the first of the original Apple II computers. I acquired this Apple II in the spring of 1978. It was a gift to me from Apple II's Head Designer, the legendary Steve Wozniak. Back in the day, Steve and I were fellow hackers and friends. I was honored that he invited me to his wedding…He was also kind enough to give me a gift from his personal collection—the Apple II computer now listed for sale."
As the technical genius behind the company’s early success, Steve Wozniak single-handedly designed both the hardware and software for Apple’s first products, and acted as the primary designer for the Apple II. Featuring color graphics, a built-in keyboard, and expandable architecture, the Apple II became one of the first highly successful mass-produced personal computers and helped establish Apple as a major force in the emerging personal computer industry.
