Description

(Walt Disney Studios, 1938) Three original production drawings featuring Joe E. Brown and Martha Raye from Mother Goose Goes Hollywood, with three frames from their humorous kissing sequence. Accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on untrimmed 12 x 10 animation paper, marked "32a," "33," and "55" in the lower right corners. Images measure from 6.5 x 7 to 8 x 6.25. In overall fine condition.

Featuring appearances by the likes of the Marx Brothers, Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Laurel and Hardy, W. C. Fields, and many others, the cartoon was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short, but lost to Disney's own Ferdinand the Bull. Due to its stereotypical racial overtones, it is seldom seen in its entirety.
