Group of three Civil War-era mailing envelopes with attractive patriotic cachets and designs related to the Union Army, which read “The Flag of the Free, We’ll Defend It,” “Liberty and Union Forever,” and “Our Compromise.” Each 5.5 x 3 envelope bears an affixed 3-cent George Washington postage stamp, and two feature postmarks, with one cancelled in Lowell, Massachusetts, on May 31, 1861. In overall very good to fine condition, with scattered light staining.
