The Apple Desktop Bus Mouse, introduced in 1986 alongside the Apple IIGS, was the first mouse to use Apple’s new Apple Desktop Bus (ADB) interface. It featured a simple one-button design and a compact, angular shape consistent with Apple’s design language of the era. This mouse became a standard peripheral for many Macintosh models through the late 1980s and early 1990s, helping to cement the single-button mouse as a hallmark of Apple’s user interface philosophy.
