Revolutionary War-dated manuscript DS, one page, 8.25 x 13.25, April 24, 1776. Committee report from the Massachusetts General Court, in part: "The Committee of both Houses appointed to Examine Caleb Wheaton, Caleb Wheaton jun’r and Joseph Wheaton prisoners taken in the Brigg bound for Boston to Hallifax and sent to this Court by the Committee of Marblehead have attended that Service & Reports that…if [they] jointly & severally give Bond to the Treasurer of this Colony in the penal sum of Five Hundred pounds the condition whereof to be that they and every of them will be of good behavior & will not correspond with any of the Enemies of America or take arms against the United American Colonies…that they be committed to close confinement until the further order of the Gen. Court.” Signed at the conclusion by Caleb Cushing, Perez Morton, and Joseph Warren. Impressively mounted and framed with a modern print of Paul Revere’s engraving of the Boston Massacre to an overall size of 28.5 x 23.25. In very good to fine condition, with soiling, light creasing, and short edge tears.
