Group of 21 original vintage circa 1981 glossy silver gelatin photographs related to the wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles, ranging in size from 6.5 x 6 to 9.5 x 7, most with affixed captions and copyright stamps of The Press Association Ltd., London, on the reverse. Subjects include: Princess Diana in her wedding dress; Princess Diana and Prince Charles together; the procession down the aisle; various family photos, including Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in a horse-drawn carriage; a post-wedding balcony appearance at Buckingham Palace; and other similar shots. In overall fine condition, with irregular surface banding to one of the photographs.
After a mere six months of dating, Diana and Charles announced their engagement on February 24, 1981. The fabled royal wedding took place at St. Paul’s Cathedral on July 29, 1981, before an invited congregation of 3,500 and an estimated worldwide television audience of 750 million.
