Scarce U.S. promotional first pressing of the album Led Zeppelin II (Atlantic Records, SD 8236, Stereo, Monarch Pressing), with the back cover bearing an affixed "Promotional Copy, Not for Sale" label, and the white disc labels on both sides marked "Sample Copy, Not for Sale.” Bottom of the labels read: “Mfg. by Atlantic Recording Group., 1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.” The vinyl matrix and runout numbers, in part: “ST-A-691671-MO - CC RL LW” and “ST-A-691672-MO - CC RL LW.”” In very good to fine condition, with light scuffing and toning, mild edge wear, and partial separation along the spine. The etched “RL” stands for Robert Ludwig, whose original mastering job was deemed too ‘hot’ for the best playback and his copies were soon pulled. A highly sought DJ promo copy featuring the classics ‘Heartbreaker,’ ‘Thank You,’ and ‘Whole Lotta Love.’
