Complete 'late city edition' of the New York Times from August 8, 1945, 16.5 x 22.5, 40 pages, with large banner headline: "Atomic Bomb Wiped Out 60% of Hiroshima; Shock Awed Fliers; Tokyo Cabinet Meets; Carrier Planes Strike Near China Cost." The front page features portraits of Enola Gay crewmen William S. Parsons, Paul W. Tibbets, and Thomas W. Ferebee, and reports on the devastation of the atomic bomb: "Sixty per cent of Hiroshima was obliterated by the lone atomic bomb dropped on Sunday…The city disappeared in a cloud of smoke, flame and dust that rose 40,000 feet." In good to very good condition, with overall toning, loss to the lower right corner of the first page, and chipping to the fragile edges.
