Brilliant original artwork by Joann Daley of legendary horror actor Lon Chaney as he appeared in the classic 1925 silent horror film The Phantom of the Opera, accomplished in acrylic and mixed media on 20 x 15 illustration board, which depicts the iconic horror character in a terrifying half-length pose. The left side is signed in pencil by Daley. In fine condition.
Daley is among the very few credited female artists in the movie poster industry and perhaps the only woman known primarily for her work in the horror genre, especially from the 1980s and 1990s. Titles that bear Daley's ghoulish artwork include horror flicks like Creepshow, Friday the 13th, Scanners, Video of the Dead, Popcorn, and The Initiation, just to name a few.
