Three matte-finish photos signed in fountain pen by Lyndon B. Johnson, including: two 14 x 11 photos of Johnson shaking hands at an event, both signed and inscribed in the lower border, “To Edward H. Pruden, Best wishes, Lyndon B. Johnson” and “To Mrs. Edward Pruden, Best wishes, Lyndon B. Johnson”; and an 11 x 14 full-length photo of Johnson delivering a diploma to a young man, presumably the son of the Prudens, signed in the lower border, “Lyndon B. Johnson.” In overall very good to fine condition, with some small creases in the borders, and a heavier but still unobtrusive crease to each image. Accompanied by a transmittal letter from Johnson’s secretary to Dr. Edward Hughes Pruden, dated June 14, 1971, in full: “As you requested, President Johnson has signed all four of your pictures. He asked that I pass on his congratulations and best wishes to your son on his forthcoming marriage.” The referenced fourth signed photo is not included.
