Description

Official printing of "Ex. Doc. No. 96" from the 38th Congress, 1st Session, one page both sides, 6 x 9.5, containing a "Letter from the Secretary of the Interior recommending Appropriations to fulfil treaty stipulations with various Indian tribes," June 6, 1864. Includes the text of Secretary of the Interior J. P. Usher's letter to Speaker of the House Schuyler Colfax, enclosing a communication from Commissioner of Indian Affairs William P. Dole, recommending appropriations to satisfy "the claim of the confederated tribes of Kaskaskia and Peoria, Piankeshaw and Wea Indians." In very good condition, with edge tears and paper loss.
