Complete issue of the Gazette of the United States from July 11, 1789, 10.25 x 16.75, four pages, with reports on the 4th of July festivities at Philadelphia and Boston. At Philadelphia, Reverend William Rogers delivered an oration on the "commemoration of liberty and independence; and a modest consideration of the principles of the Society of the Cincinnati." Meanwhile, the town of Boston "exhibited every demonstration of joy and festivity," with an oration by Rev. Stillman, a military parade, and toasts to President Washington, Vice President Adams, the Congress, and the Commonwealth. In very good to fine condition, with scattered stains, and partial separation along the hinge.
