Description

Album cover test print for Janis Joplin's final album, from the collection of photographer Barry Feinstein

From the personal collection of legendary rock photographer Barry Feinstein—an original vintage album cover test print proof for the front cover of Janis Joplin's 1971 Columbia Records album Pearl, 13 x 14.5, printed on slick lightweight stock with printer's marks in the borders. Pearl represented Janis Joplin's farewell—it was released in January 1971, three months after her death on October 4th. The photo session took place in Hollywood on October 3rd, the day before her tragic overdose. Feinstein captured the celebrated blues-rock vocalist relaxing on an antique sofa, drink and cigarette in hand. In fine condition.

From the personal collection of Barry Feinstein and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from his estate.
