Collection of backstage passes and ephemera from the collection of Lisa Sarna, a member of Rick James's Stone City Band, highlighted by her laminated backstage pass for the Rick James 1980 Fire It Up Tour, headed with bold red text, "Rick James Tour 1980, Access All Areas," measuring 4.5 x 3.5, featuring an early passport-style portrait of Sarna, filled out in type: "Name: Lisa Sarna, Position: Musician, Authorized by: Bob Pope." This tour may be best remembered for its opening act: the up-and-coming Prince joined Rick James's Fire It Up tour as the opening act in February 1980, following his own headlining club tour from November 1979–February 1980. Prince stole the show with his short, energetic set; James accused Prince of ripping off his act, stirring up animosity that lasted throughout their careers.
Additionally includes: Sarna's backstage pass for the "Rick James Throwin' Down Tour 1982," signed by Rick James's brother, tour manager, and noted visual artist LeRoi Johnson; two cloth backstage passes from the 1982 tour, marked "Stagehand" and "All Access"; two different "Stone City Band" tour laminates, marked "5" and "26"; two metal pins, one with "Punk Funk" in white lettering and one with the "Rick James / Street Songs" album cover; a Rick James Christmas card, featuring a portrait of the band with Santa Claus on one side, and a printed message on the other: "Have a Merry Christmas and a Funky New Year"; a ticket to The Jacksons World Tour 1979, for their show at Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo, New York, on October 27, 1979; and a Rick James "Celebration of Life" memorial program from 2004.
