Description

Confederate cavalry saber imported from Great Britain, marked on the ricasso: "Parker Field & Sons, 233 Holborn, London," with a small decorative etching. The sword measures 41˝ long overall, with a 35.5˝ slightly curved, single-edged blade. Exhibits overall tarnishing and patina, with one band of the guard neatly snapped.

Accompanied by a letter from Brian K. Akins of Rebel Relics, attesting that he purchased the saber "with history of being carried by one of Wade Hampton's troopers. The last name given to me was 'Darcy.'"
