Description

Shaving mug and razor identified to Captain James M. Drennan of Worcester, Massachusetts, who was born in Ireland and enlisted in October 1861 as a 2nd Lieutenant. He was wounded May 9, 1864 at Arrowfield Church, Virginia, and was promoted to captain on June 4, 1864. His shaving mug measures 4.5˝ tall and is identified on the bottom in faded pencil on masking tape, "Jas. Drennan." The razor, complete with its cardboard case, was manufactured by George Wolstenholm & Son, and is so marked on the blade. In overall good to very good condition, with a rusty patina to the shaving mug and a small piece of the razor's ebony handle missing, near the folding pin.
