Scarce original ‘Pictorial Directory of the 81st Congress,’ which met in Washington, D.C. from January 3, 1949, to January 3, 1951, during the fifth and sixth years of Harry S. Truman's presidency. The directory, 80 pages, 8.5 x 11.5, features a portrait image of Massachusetts Congressman John F. Kennedy on the front cover; Kennedy is pictured again on page 31 as a representative of Massachusetts's 11th district. Also pictured in the directory are President Truman, Texas Senator Lyndon B. Johnson, California Senator Richard Nixon, and Michigan Congressman Gerald Ford. In very good to fine condition, with scattered light foxing and handling wear, and damage to the detached front cover.
