Outstanding 12 x 15.5 engraving of President Lincoln and his family by Adam B. Walter after a painting by Frederic B. Schell, published by John Dainty of Philadelphia, imprinted in the lower border with an 1865 copyright notice. The classic image, based largely on a photograph taken by Mathew Brady, shows President Abraham Lincoln paging through a large album with his son, Tad, looking on; Mary Todd Lincoln is seated beside them, and Robert Todd Lincoln, dressed in military uniform stands behind; a portrait of their late son, Willie, adorns the wall. Framed to an overall size of 15 x 18.5. In fine condition, with chipping to the frame. Accompanied by a carte-de-visite featuring an image of Schell's painting.
