Metal fire extinguisher nozzle used during training for all three Skylab crews, 4.75˝ x 1.75˝, with small wire tether and sliding nut engraved: "Crawford-Pat'd-Swagelok-316." Accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity from retired NASA Subsystems Manager Robert Stuckey, in part: "After the tragic Apollo 1 fire NASA developed a fire extinguisher for use in Zero G. This was a portable foam extinguisher with a positive expulsion system and was carried aboard all Apollo flights. The primary objective was extinguishing fires in closed compartments. However, for Skylab open fires were also a concern. To fight these more effectively a nozzle allowing the suppressant to be discharged in a 'fog' pattern was developed. Several extinguishers with these nozzles were flown in the Skylab Module, and at the end of the third mission one extinguisher and nozzle were tested for the first time in zero G. The extinguisher was discharged into a cloth bag. Interestingly the foam was recorded as 'coming out like spaghetti' attesting to the nozzle's design. The extinguishers and nozzles remained on Skylab, burning up upon reentry. The accompanying nozzle was used in training all 3 Skylab crews."
