Five original vintage circa 1976-77 chromogenic color 10 x 8 photographs of images taken on the surface of Mars by the Viking 1 lander, including: a color panorama of the Martian surface with the Viking's surface sampler scoop in the foreground; a Martian sunset over Chryse Planitia; the Chryse Plains with the 3-foot-tall boulder 'Big Joe' in view; the Viking lander's trenching activities; and a composite view of the rocky, reddish Martian terrain. Four have mimeographed NASA press captions affixed to the reverse, dated from August 1976–March 1977, and all have "This Paper Manufactured by Kodak" watermarks. In overall fine condition.
