Three items: a George Gershwin personal check, 6.5 x 2.75, filled out in another hand and signed by George Gershwin, payable to the Manhattan Life Insurance Co. for $867.12, January 7, 1935; an ALS signed "Ira Gershwin," one page, 7.25 x 10.25, personal letterhead, January 27, 1965, in part: "Thank you for your kind sentiments. I'm afraid, though, that holograph notes or letters of my brother's are few and far between. However, I still have a number of his canceled checks, and am happy to be able to enclose one for you"; and an ink signature, "Ira Gershwin," on a white 5 x 3 card. In overall fine condition.
