Desirable pair of round-rimmed sunglasses worn by Prince on the set of the 1984 film Purple Rain. The gold framed glasses with 2" mirrored lens are marked on the inner left temple, "Original Prince Design TM." In fine condition.
Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Pat Maguire, the founder of the Art Angel Foundation, who writes: “These sunglasses were part of the small collection used in the movie production of Purple Rain. The artist Prince personally designed them for this 1984 Warner Brothers movie. On the inner gold frame appears ‘ORIGINAL PRINCE DESIGN ™’ in white letters. At the conclusion of the movie the props/costume department sold the few remaining pairs which I acquired. This is one of only a few to exist.”
