Description

Original fourth draft copy of the script for Graffiti Bridge, widely considered a sequel to Purple Rain, 66 pages, 8.5 x 11, dated February 1, 1990, with yellow and blue revision sheets dating to February 7th and March 9th. Housed in its original three-ring binder issued to the film’s sound mixer, Matthew Quast, the script also includes other production-related documents, including:

- four photocopied sheets of Prince wardrobe sketches
- a 31-page lyric section for 25 songs that were used or intended to be used in the film’s soundtrack, including ‘Thieves in the Temple,’ ‘Round and Round,’ and ‘New Power Generation’
- a 16-page ‘Crew List’ section
- a 16-page ‘One Line’ schedule for the film’s various shooting locations
- a group of four Graffiti Bridge call sheets dated March 13, 26, 27, and 28, 1990
- a 4-page ‘Music List,’ which contains the film’s many songs and starts with a track entitled ‘Donald Trump, Black Version'

In overall fine condition, with scattered wear.

Accompanied by a second production binder, which contains numerous omitted script pages and a production ‘suppliers’ list, and a signed letter of authenticity from Quast, who worked as a production film sound mixer and playback operator on the Prince films Purple Rain, Sign o' the Times, and Graffiti Bridge. He writes: “I received this Graffiti Bridge script, which was the sequel to Purple Rain, and all of the numerous included documents…[from] the producers at the beginning of production on Graffiti Bridge in January of 1990.”
