Psychedelic 'box' purse owned and used by Janis Joplin

Janis Joplin's personally-owned and -used 'box' purse, measuring 10˝ x 5.75˝ x 3.75˝, featuring a colorful psychedelic pattern with circles in white, blue, pink, and green. The purse has a matching handle, rotating metal clasp, and white vinyl lining. In very good to fine condition, with scattered staining to the exterior. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the widow of concert promoter Irwin Pate, in full: "My name is Clarine M. Pate. I am the wife of the late Irwin Pate who passed away May of 2018. Irwin was a renowned booking agent and promotional manager for over 2 decades. During his career Irwin and I obtained a large collection of personal clothing and articles belonging to numerous entertainers. Irwin knew Janis Joplin. He also worked as the promoter for a few of Janis Joplin's live shows. This purse was owned and used by Janis Joplin. Irwin obtained it from her during one of their meetings in the late 1960's. I am writing this letter on company letterhead to assure you that it was owned and used by Janis Joplin." Also includes a letter of authenticity from Gotta Have Rock and Roll.
