Shared ALS from Union soldiers and brothers T. J. and L. B. Fellows during the Civil War, one page, both sides, 4.75 x 7.75, dated March 1, 1863, addressed from Newport News, Virginia. The handwritten letter reads, in part: “Dear Father, I write you a few lines that I am well at this time and hope this will find you the same. We have got into a pleasant place if they will let us stay. There is gun boats in the river as a blockade to stop the rebels from coming down. Our camp is at the mouth of the James River. We had a pleasant ride in the Steamer Columbia.” In fine condition.
