Original Japanese Army battle flag attributed to the Battle of Saipan, featuring a red 'rising sun' against a white field, measuring approximately 35″ x 25″, with two leather-reinforced corners. In very good to fine condition, with expected overall soiling and staining. Accompanied by a collector's letter of provenance, certifying that the "Japanese battle flag, used in the Battle of Saipan was given to me...by a civilian who lived on the island of Saipan during World War II. This gentleman gave me the flag in the early to mid-1970s."
