(Walt Disney Studios, 1940) Brilliant original production cel of the monks from Fantasia, depicting the long line of hooded figures, each carrying a lighted taper, as they emerge from the woods and walk below a hill at sunrise during the film’s beautiful final ‘Ave Maria’ segment. The cel has been trimmed and applied to a hand-painted background as prepared by Courvoisier Galleries for sale, the lower left of which bears a WDP stamp. The image measures 6.25 x 1, with a mat opening of 9 x 7.5. Matted and framed to an overall size of 21.75 x 16.5. The piece has the original Disney Courvoisier Galleries label on the reverse. In fine condition. A splendid Courvoisier display piece from Fantasia’s emotional closing scene.
