Four original faxes with designs for Prince's "MPLS" animated music video, each 13.25 x 8.5, dated September 7, 1994. The faxes feature: Prince's iconic 'Love Symbol' design; a trio of Prince and the NPG's instruments—a 'Love Symbol' guitar and bass, and another bass used by Sonny T.; a large upright bass; and a trio of flowers. The faxes are housed in a folder from Philippine Animation Studio, Inc. In overall very good to fine condition, with dampstaining to edges.
"MPLS" was the first video related to Prince to be treated as a cartoon, released for broadcast but receiving only minimal airplay. The associated single received only a limited release through the 1-800-NEW-FUNK telephone service and The New Power Generation stores in Minneapolis and London. In addition to the cartoon scenes, the video features live-action clips from Prince's 'The Beautiful Experience' TV-special and Lenny Kravitz’s 'Are You Gonna Go My Way' music video.
