Olympic athlete's autograph book from the Amsterdam 1928 Summer Olympics, 3.25 x 4.25, signed throughout by more than 90 members of the United States Olympic team. Distributed by United States Lines, the front cover is gilt-stamped: "My Trip Abroad." On two pages, Alderman records brief diary entries about the voyage from New York to Amsterdam. One highlight in the book is Herman Brix, a gold-medal winning shot putter, who, under the name Bruce Bennett, became a successful film and television actor, best known for playing Tarzan. Additionally includes 37 original candid photographs, all approximately 3 x 2.5, many showing the ship and athletes on board, plus a few of the Olympic track and field events.
