Attractive grouping of four Li'l Abner original artwork pieces by legendary cartoonist Al Capp, consisting of three original hand-drawn Li'l Abner comic strips dating to three different decades, and a large ink and graphite sketch of Li'l Abner Yokum, accomplished on an off-white 6.5 x 10.25 sheet of clipped cardstock, depicting the brawny hillbilly as a bellhop happily carrying four suitcases, signed boldly below by Capp. The three comic strips, rendered in ink and graphite, range in size from 19.75 x 6.25 to 22.75 x 6.25 and are each signed in the last panel in black ink by Capp. The comic strips feature L’il Abner observing a miraculous gambling situation (August 19, 1941), Mammy Yokum on a turbulent plane trip caused by Evil Eye Fleagle (January 12, 1962), and a “Li'l Abner's ‘Ideel’ Fearless Fosdick” comic that shows the Dick Tracy parody character having his clothes stolen during an anatomy lab class (June 24, 1970). Each bears an affixed New Service or United Feature Syndicate copyright label. The 1941 comic strip is affixed to a 24 x 7.5 cardstock mount, and the reverse of the 1970 comic bears a “Photostat” stamp. In overall fine condition.
