American politician (1760-1833) who succeeded Alexander Hamilton as Secretary of the Treasury under Washington and Adams, and went on to serve as governor of Connecticut. Two documents: a Revolutionary War-dated manuscript DS, signed "Oliv. Wolcott Jr.," one page, 7.75 x 3, June 9, 1781, being a Pay-Table Office document ordering the disbursement of five pounds to Quartermaster Ralph Pomeroy, countersigned by Finn Wadsworth and endorsed on the reverse by Pomeroy; and a partly-printed DS, signed "Oliv: Wolcott, Jr.," one page, 7 x 3.5, March 20, 1789, being a Comptroller's Office note for the payment of ten shillings. In overall fine condition.
