Wallpaper swatches attributed to the Lincoln-era 'Red Room' of the White House and Lincoln's 'Death Room' at the Petersen House, across the street from Ford's Theatre. The 'Red Room' swatch measures 1″ x .75″, and the two 'Death Room' patterned swatches measure .75″ x .25″ and .5″ x .5″. In very good to fine condition. Accompanied by a photocopy of a letter from the United States Department of the Interior, stating that their examination of a wallpaper sample confirmed it as "authentic and…from the room where Lincoln died"; we presume that this letter pertained to a larger wallpaper sample from which these fragments were cut.
